Jefferson County Board of Education member Benjamin Gies will renounce, Jefferson County Public Schools announced Monday. Gies, who represents southwestern Jefferson County, is leaving the board to take a policy position with Kentucky Youth Advocates, the district said in an information release. Gies has served on the seven-member board since 2016, while, at 25, he has become the youngest individual ever elected to the JCPS college board.
